My Neighbor’s Paradise

My Neighbor’s Paradise

One of my neighbors…is a colorful old man. His first love is flowers, second is flowers… and i guess his ‘old lady’ comes third! Over several decades of his stay in the villa, he have grown a garden… to be precise, one should call it a botanical garden.

This is the Bird of Paradise Flower (Strelitzia) from the old man’s paradise.
A native of South Africa, Strelitzia is commonly known as the Crane Flower.

  1. This reminds me of a flower I saw at the Conservatory in St. Paul, MN. The interior looks like that, too. Was this photo taken in a greenhouse or outdoors?
I arrived at this post after you visited my just-launched blog – thanks for stopping by, and nice post and blog design by the way.

    • Outdoors… on the roadside. The flowers are of a creeper. Was hanging from someone’s fence. This is a weed growing over here. People probably try not cut them down for these sparkling flowers that remain open for about half the day. Don’t think its not something special to preserve in a greenhouse.
Thanks for visiting. You have a lovely blog.
