One of my neighbors…is a colorful old man. His first love is flowers, second is flowers… and i guess his ‘old lady’ comes third! Over several decades of his stay in the villa, he have grown a garden… to be precise, one should call it a botanical garden.
This is the Bird of Paradise Flower (Strelitzia) from the old man’s paradise.
A native of South Africa, Strelitzia is commonly known as the Crane Flower.
These tiny blue flowers look so beautiful and bright together…
… cool, fresh, and full of hope.
… just another neighborhood dog; but not quite so either. He is a part of my life… rather an intruder into my life.
A year back… someone noticed this fellow sneaking through the broken fence, everyday… just to watch me returning from work. Strange! Everyday!
I don’t feed him… I don’t care for him… I don’t love him either… But he is there, everyday, wagging his tail! He just loves me! Was never able to discover ‘why.’ A cosmic link? … Do dogs really have emotions? Questions… a lot of them…
It seems… I feel grateful to him, sometimes, … for making me feel so important.
A colorful wall engraving showing a group of folk dancers dancing…
Thoughts travel to a different world; a world beyond the seas and the hills… to some distant land beside the woods… where … a group of cheerful people celebrate their humble lives.
Yet another yellow flower…
Wonder why so many flowers are yellow. Little drops of sun on earth… radiating warmth & happiness.
… Belongs to some hospitable old couple.. always eager to welcome anyone who passes by.
Fresh from orchard. Please help yourselves….
Came across this lone zebra thousands and thousands miles away from his home – the Africa. Life has truly become black & white for him. He just keeps staring at visitors to his enclosure; probably pleading, silently, to let him go…
Maybe … all luxury could not substitute the happiness of home & freedom..
